You already know that you want to start your own business or are thinking about it?
You are looking for impulses from experienced experts from entrepreneurship, research and teaching to learn the necessary tools for your startup process?
You want your startup to be value-driven and (nevertheless) successful?
Then this is the right place for you! All KIT students participating in the student startup competition »GROW« of PionierGarage e.V. have the opportunity to go through a special training format, the successful completion of which is rewarded with the "Startup Diploma" certificate.
The »Startup Diploma« is awarded for successful engagement with startup ideas. Workshops and pitches in the student founding contest »GROW« and selected courses at House of Competence (HoC) combine necessary business know-how with the awareness of a healthy and future-oriented attitude. PionierGarage e.V., EnTechnon and HoC pursue a common goal: to provide students with the necessary tools to successfully realise their startup idea.
Participation in »GROW« is a prerequisite for the »Startup Diploma« certificate.
The application phase starts at the beginning of each winter semester. Over eleven weeks, participants are supported and empowered to develop their startup idea in teams, create professional business plans, and test in various pitches in front of a jury and large audience whether the startup or product holds water.
The course »Start Your Startup« includes selected workshops from the program of »GROW«.
Thus, your participation in »GROW« can be recognized with 2 ECTS in the area of »Interdisciplinary Qualifications« (applies to B.A. and M.A. programs). These workshops focus specifically on competencies that support the start-up process in keeping a sense of purpose, working successfully as a team, and building and presenting the start-up in a well-founded manner:
1. Kick-Off "GROW"
2. Innovate with Impact / Ideation
3. Working as a Team
4. Business Modeling
5. Pitch Training
6. Midterm Pitch
Those who drive the vision of their own start-up should be able to rely on the meaningfulness of the »product« and a stable compass of values.
The selected workshops at HoC sensitize young founders to enter self-employment with a conscious attitude - an entrepreneurial mindset. To achieve this, it is important to be aware of one's strengths and to act self-effectively - as well as to remain resilient in stressful times such as the start-up phase and to keep calm through mindful self-management. Impulses for a clear leadership mindset starting with self-leadership and ending with scientific leadership theories provide ideas on how to succeed in leading a startup. Communication skills and teamwork methods round out the Entrepreneurial Mindset training offerings.
Attend one or more courses (at least 1 ECTS) from the HoC's range of courses. You can find them compactly compiled in our »Entrepreneurial Mindset Toolbox«.
You will receive the "Startup Diploma" certificate if:
-
you have successfully completed the course »Start Your Startup«
-
and have submitted the attendance certificate together with attendance certificates for at least one of the available workshops in the »Entrepreneurial Mindset Toolbox« at the House of Competence.
